In a nutshell: What with Steak and Daft Punk’s Electroma, French dance artists are knocking out weird films at a rate of, well, two a year. This year, anyway. Steak also has a natty soundtrack album to go with, in which director Mr Oizo ropes in the Sebastie/Ans to cram as much as they possibly can into 36 minutes. Twenty-one tracks of sketchbook electronica delivered with the Paris scene’s customary flair.
Imagine if you will: Don’t worry if you don’t like one track. There’s another along in a minute. |
