In a nutshell: 2007 was a helluva year for The Chip. Their second album The Warning had cemented the promise shown on beguiling debut Comin On Strong and with a Mercury nomination in their back pocket they went all over the world honing their rockin’ live experience. Made In The Dark is the result of going back to their home studio and for six months crafting a futuristic pop classic, with its echoes of pastmasters Kraftwerk, Prince and The Human League on helium. From the crystal cut, propulsive, jittery groove of album opener Back To The Pictures the band get their electro stomp going with Todd Rundgren sampling Shake A Fist.
