In a nutshell: Wes Anderson’s latest venture into the offbeat side of American life finds three brothers searching for lost kinship on a train voyage across India. With a soundtrack compiled largely from Bollywood scores (many from the films of the great Satyajit Ray), as well as numerous interjections from The Kinks. It’s a fittingly evocative accompaniment to one of the most original films to emerge from Stateside this year.
Imagine if you will: A bloodied and scarred Owen Wilson trying to patch up his face with a bindi. |
